WEG – Watt Drive Geared Motors for the World
At the turn of the year Watt Drive Antriebstechnik GmbH has been taken over by the internationally active WEG company. Since that, the development of new MAS® geared motors is in progress. The completion and presentation of the new product lines is planned in the 1. quarter 2013. Through combination of high efficient WEG motors (IE2 and IE3) with the modular gear system of Watt Drive, future-proof drive packages are created for numerous customer applications.
About WEG:
WEG is a worldwide supplier of LV, MV and HV electric motors, in capacities up to 20MW, and as well offers complete turnkey solutions including motors, drives, PLCs, switchgear, transformers and software. The company is an ISO 14001 certified manufacturer and has a truly global presence with representatives on every continent in over 60 countries; it offers a network of 1100 service centres worldwide.
In the low, medium and high voltage motor sectors, WEG offers highly efficient standard products and also develops special custom products for specific market segments requiring motors capable of supporting the most demanding applications.
Featuring many innovative developments, supported by patent and registered design applications, the new range comprises three product types each designed to exceed the requirements of the IE1, IE2, IE3 (Premium) efficiency and the IE4 (Super Premium) efficiency classes.
Optimised geared motors concept for sales partners:
The manufacturing of the new geared motors will still be in A-2753 Markt Piesting. An expansion of the capacities is planned.
The drives can of course be marketed according to the pre-assembled concept. For the WATT partner company a basic gear with preassembled intermediate- and output stage is at hand.
By using the modular input variants the entire drive system can be realised flexibly and efficiently.
Customer advantages:
- Worldwide available sales network
- Flexible system for the solution of numerous applications
- Small lifecycle costs through high efficient drive technique (IE2/IE3)
- Geometry optimised gearings enhance the energy balance of the gears
- Compact, universal usable gear housings save installation space
- Long lifespan through solidly designed system components
- Small system losses, thus less radiant heat
Preview trade fair appearances:
- CFIA Rennes, France from March 13th to March 15th, 2012
- HANOVER FAIR, Germany from April 23rd to 27th, 2012
Further information on the WEG - WATT product programme are in preparation. The implementation of the drives into the interactive product software „cat4CAD“ will ensue until end of 2012.
