Drives installed in steel plants have to defy hardest environmental conditions. The water-cooled drives designed by WATT have been especially developed for the demanding environment of the steel industry. In combination with a WEG roller table motor, a reliable and efficient drive is created.
After last year’s successful market introduction of the decentral drive controller INVEOR, the single phase designs for power classes 0.37 up to 1.1kW are as well available now. Furthermore the product range has been complemented with a further size „up“ into the three-phase area. With the D-size there is now available a power range of 11 up to 22kW.
Through cooperation with the KOSTAL company, Watt Drive now manages to offer decentral, power optimised drives. It is brought into use for areas in which long wires would be necessary. Elaborate and costly wiring (shielded cables) between a drive controller in the switch cabinet and the geared motor thus can be spared.
The demand for larger WATT gears from the worldwide proven MAS® programme was increasing from year to year. For this reason the helical bevel gear K.. 139 with a rated torque of 20.000Nm has been developed after intensive market studies. The gear, based on modular units, complements the ample product portfolio of WATT and will be available in series at the end of 2011.
